The difference between artists and the rest of the world is, we know the most important donor to any visual is he who wields the canvas.
I did not know the name Dan Gilroy until NIGHTCRAWLER. And he directed VELVET BUZZSAW. I just watched it. Loved it! I’m more invested. Not know anything about Gilroy, it seems he holds contempt for hierarchy in the art community by the amusing way he portrayed each of their characters. The only immunity to his scorn are the artists. And then I read on IMDB that his mother is/was a writer and sculptor.
And I just read he and Russo have a daughter together? It aaaaall makes sense now. Fabulous. Who cares. Just keep making movies.
Great film. I’m sure I’ll watch it again before it disappears into the Netflix vortex.
