Why?
Example: (reportedly) Kristin Bauer, was kidnapped while at her job by her ex-boyfriend at gunpoint. The nutjob (ex-boyfriend) shot her coworker in order to kidnap Kristin. In the standoff with police SHE became non fatal collateral damage, and when the ordeal was over Kristin appeared on news cameras and said along the lines this about her ex-boyfriend, "He was a good guy..."
A good guy.
And now Kristin is signing autographs and has beer named after her.
